Who We Are

Built by defenders, for defenders.

Team Cymru was founded on a simple but radical premise: that the internet itself is the most complete record of threat actor behavior — and that the organizations best positioned to defend against attacks are those who can read it in real time.

Unlike threat intelligence providers who aggregate commodity data and apply generic assumptions, Team Cymru observes IP-to-IP traffic directly. Our data is original, validated, and available as it happens — not hours or days later. We call this being a CTI Originator, and that distinction matters.

CTI Originator: Every insight Team Cymru surfaces is grounded in direct, first-party observation of active threat actor infrastructure — not aggregated from third-party feeds. There is no shortcut to what we do, and there is no substitute for it.

Beyond commercial products, Team Cymru has a long history of community service — providing free tools, threat data, and collaborative infrastructure to the global security community. Protecting the internet is not just our business. It is our purpose.

Joe Sander

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Joe Sander is the Chief Executive Officer of Team Cymru. He joined to do one thing: grow and nurture a company whose intelligence has protected the global internet for 25 years, because every defender who gains access to that visibility makes the whole community stronger.

Team Cymru has spent 25 years building something no one else has: direct partnerships with 800+ ISPs, passive NetFlow visibility across a significant portion of global internet traffic, and longitudinal data that lets defenders see what adversaries are doing before they strike. Joe’s job is to make sure the world knows it, and that the company is built to deliver on that promise at scale.

Since joining in 2025, he has driven the transition from a founder-led organization to an enterprise motion: sharpening go-to-market strategy, building the revenue infrastructure, and aligning product, marketing, and sales around unified intelligence. The work is deliberate, protecting what makes Team Cymru exceptional while building what it needs to grow.

Prior to Team Cymru, Joe served as CEO of Radiant Logic, guiding the company through significant expansion and a successful recapitalization before transitioning to the board. His career spans more than three decades of building and leading high-growth software and cybersecurity companies, with a consistent focus on operational discipline, market expansion, and delivering value in PE-backed environments where execution is the only currency that matters.

Team Cymru’s mission, saving and improving human lives by illuminating threat actors and enabling defenders to act, is one Joe takes literally. The intelligence is real. The stakes are real. The work is building a company that operates like it knows both.

Richard Dufty

Chief Commercial Officer

Richard Dufty is the Chief Commercial Officer of Team Cymru, and he operates from a simple conviction: when defenders have the right intelligence, they win.

As CCO, Richard leads Team Cymru’s global customer and partner-facing organization: enterprise and strategic sales, channel partners, alliances, and customer success. His focus is on building the commercial infrastructure and customer relationships that turn a deeply technical intelligence capability into sustained, scalable revenue growth. For Richard, that means shortening the distance between what Team Cymru can see and what a customer can act on, and making sure the commercial motion is built around that value, not around a sales cycle.

Richard brings more than two decades building and scaling revenue organizations in cybersecurity, including eight years at Symantec leading enterprise managed security and threat intelligence, a founding CRO role at Arkose Labs, and scaling AppDirect from $1M to $100M ARR. He has been recognized as one of Pavilion’s “40 Global CROs to Watch” and a “Top 100 Global Sales Leader,” recognition earned not just from growth numbers, but from the customer relationships and community trust that make those numbers last.

At Team Cymru, he brings that same philosophy to a mission where the stakes extend well beyond the balance sheet.

Eric Carlson

Chief Financial Officer

Eric Carlson is the Chief Financial Officer of Team Cymru. He joined because turning unmatched global telemetry into actionable intelligence requires a financial and operational foundation built for scale.

As CFO, Eric oversees Team Cymru’s global finance organization and guides the company’s continued expansion. His focus is on building the operational discipline, financial performance, and strategic alignment that allow a company with deep intelligence infrastructure to navigate critical growth milestones. Team Cymru sits in a distinctive position in the cybersecurity ecosystem, and Eric’s job is to ensure the company is financially positioned to extend that advantage to defenders worldwide and secure its next chapter of growth.

Eric brings a 30 year background in scaling fast-moving technology businesses, with executive experience spanning SaaS, telecommunications, healthcare technology, and enterprise infrastructure. Prior to Team Cymru, he served as Chief Financial Officer at MATRIXX Software, where he supported increased profitability, strengthened cash flow, and optimized global operations. Before that, he held senior financial leadership positions at Arine, Twin, Cisco Jasper, and Seagate Technology, consistently leading these organizations through funding rounds, strategic transformations, and international expansion.

For a company whose intelligence actively protects the global internet, financial execution is about more than the bottom line; it is about ensuring the mission never slows down. Eric is here to make sure it doesn't.

Tim Jones

Chief Technical Officer

Tim Jones is the Chief Technology Officer of Team Cymru. He has been here since 2008. That tenure is not incidental, it is the reason the technical foundation of this company is what it is.

As CTO, Tim provides strategic leadership across product management, product marketing, and engineering, while maintaining deep collaboration across sales, marketing, finance, and HR. His role is to ensure that the intelligence capability Team Cymru has spent 25 years building remains technically irreproducible, and that the product organization translates that capability into something defenders can put to work immediately.

Tim built the engineering and operational foundation of Team Cymru from the inside. He joined as Manager of Software Engineering, overseeing architecture, design, and development, before being appointed Executive Vice President of Engineering — a role he held for 12 years. In parallel, he served as Acting CFO from 2016 to 2020, standing up the company’s HR and finance organizations from scratch. From 2023 to 2025, he led Team Cymru’s international government business unit as EVP of Government, managing sales, engineering, analysis, and operations for that division. He was appointed CTO in April 2025.

Before Team Cymru, Tim spent nearly two decades at IBM as a Senior Member of Technical Staff. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

What Tim brings to this company is not just technical depth — it is institutional knowledge of what makes Team Cymru’s intelligence uniquely reliable, and the operational experience to scale it without losing what makes it irreplaceable.

Tiffany Coletti

Chief Marketing Officer

Tiffany Coletti Kaiser is the Chief Marketing Officer of Team Cymru. She joined to solve a specific problem: a company with 25 years of unmatched intelligence infrastructure and a mission that matters needs to be known for it.

As CMO, Tiffany leads brand, demand generation, community, events, product marketing, and the build-out of a modern revenue marketing infrastructure. Her mandate is to close the gap between what Team Cymru can see — the 800+ ISP partnerships, the passive NetFlow visibility, the longitudinal threat data that no one else has — and what the defenders who need it most actually know about it. That means translating deeply technical intelligence capability into market narratives that are clear, compelling, and built to drive pipeline.

Tiffany’s career is a track record of being brought into organizations with strong underlying value and building the commercial infrastructure to match: 125% year-over-year profit growth at Digital Remedy, 115% incremental revenue growth and a 31% operating margin at Translation, full-funnel demand systems at Apiary Digital. She has held senior executive and general management roles at McCann Worldgroup, StrawberryFrog, DOJO, and Eleven Inc. across technology, financial services, healthcare, and media. She holds a B.A. from SMU’s Temerlin Advertising Institute and has been recognized as an Ad Age “Woman to Watch.”

Team Cymru has the most important intelligence story in cybersecurity. Tiffany’s job is to make sure the world hears it — and that the defenders who need it can find their way to it.
